Shared maternity care

A woman’s care during her pregnancy can be shared amongst a team of professionals, these can include; the hospital, local midwife, obstetrician and certified shared maternity care GP. This method intends to provide a high quality community based, holistic, and culturally appropriate delivery of care for woman that want continuity and convenience.

Dr Rekha Sharma, our shared maternity care GP, can respond to your prenatal care needs. Your care during labour, the baby’s birth, and immediate postnatal can be managed by your hospital.

This is a prevalent option of care for healthy women with a normal pregnancy.
